Stapelia

Yesterday afternoon, I got influenza.
Louise Hay's affirmation is: "I am beyond group beliefs or the calendar. I am free from all congestion and influence."
This thought echoed in my head whilst taking this picture.
The flowers of these plants are foul-smelling. The hairs and coloration mimic decaying animal matter, thus attracting flies, which act as pollinators.
It is amazing to realize that this fly and this flower, has a built-in intelligence. An intent that happens without effort.
I also realized that this fly and this flower has no ego. They just are. What happened to the human race? Why is it that we constantly get in our own way, with our own ego, instead of just living and being the way we were intended?
Today I will practice the affirmation: I am beyond group beliefs, and I am free from congestion.

Since we are created perfect, and we have egos, then we are "living and being the way we were intended" - perfectly. Understanding the ego, grappling with the ego, valuing the ego and its challenges, loving the ego for giving us the capacity to experience ourselves as individuals as well as a part of groups , being grateful for the ego - these are all part of our human experience.
When you make a friend of the ego, it serves you gently and faithfully. When you make an enemy of the ego, you are at war with a beautiful part of your own self - and like all combatants, the ego will naturally strive to win and become master.

My first language is Afrikaans. Sometimes I use words of the English language incorrectly.
Like "influenza". In Afrikaans their is only one word for flu/cold - GRIEP. I have subsequently learnt that when you have flu it is worst than having a cold. So, I never had flu, I had a cold.
Louse Hay's affirmation still worked wonders, thanks
